Whatever this game is called, Baccarat or Punto-Banco (Player-Dealer), it basically pitches the player (Punto) against the Banker (Banco). You need to get a hand that totals 9 points. You can bet on the outcome of the Player or the Banker but if you are a Banker you can only bet on your own outcome. If you win as the Banker (Banco) you pay the casino a 5% commission on your winnings - this is considered fair since Banco wins most of the time.
Playing Baccarat
• You get two cards from the dealer (banker) who holds another two cards
• If both sides get nine, the cards are dealt again.
• If you have an 8 or 9 deal to you, you have a 'Natural'. If your cards have a low score, you may be allowed to get a 3 rd card. Check whether the casino operates the '3 rd card' rule.
• When you get closest to 9, you win the game.
Rules
1) Only cards in the pack valued up to nine are used and Aces are valued at one.
2) Card suits have no importance: you use only the numbers. 3) Should your point count get to double numbers, you only use the right digit. So 21 will give you 1.
